Hotel Guest Review: Sala Samui Resort and Spa
Sala Samui Resort and Spa, Choengmon Beach, 25th of June to 1st of July 2005.
The Sala Samui Resort was incredible! The best place we ever stayed and I was upset to leave.
I told them it was our anniversary when I booked the room so when we arrived they presented me with a dozen red roses! Our lovely bed also had rose petals on it in the shape of two hearts and the HUGE (biggest ever!) bathtub also had water in it with floating rose petals. Also they gave us a bottle of sparkling wine - what a lovely welcome!
We stayed in a 1 bedroom pool villa and it was incredible. You have your own nice sized villa and a private pool with an outdoor patio, 2 sun loungers, a dining table and a big day bed for lounging in the shade. The whole villa/pool is all enclosed and private so it is a romantic paradise! The bathroom is great too - a lovely rain shower and HUGE bathtub, toilet and 2 sinks and it is technically outside surrounded by gardens although it is covered with a roof and has drop down clear side panels to keep bugs out. It was a cool experience to feel you were showering outside.
The resort also has two really nice pools and is right on a great beach - clean, calm water to swim in, jet skis & boats for rent and a nice scattering of restaurants and bars that are all lit up at night with fairy lights and tables on the beach! The staff at the Sala Samui were so friendly and helpful and we took a day long tour for a great price all around the island with one of the Sala drivers.
The food was just delicious in the restaurant and the atmosphere was so romantic with candles and even one table that was in the pool at nighttime. It sits in a raised area with a few inches of water so you eat dinner with your feet pleasantly paddling in the water! The breakfast was superb and room service was 24 hours which is great. The only negative is that the spa and massages are very pricey but they are amazing. It is way cheaper to go out on the beach to get an hour long massage for only 6 euro!
Oh, they also have free internet access for guests which is great! Overall, we loved this place and will be going back next year! You feel so looked after here and you won't want to leave!!!!!!

Samui Airport
new passenger terminals opened on May 27, 2007. The new
facilities handle international and domestic direct
flights between Koh Samui and Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Penang and Phuket.
Beautiful white sand beaches cover most
of Kosamui’s seashore. The most popular, and most
developed beach areas are at Chaweng and Lamai at the
eastern seaboard of Ko Samui.
The majority of Koh samui's hotels,
resorts, and bungalows line up along the coast of
Chaweng and Lamai, followed by Bophut Beach and Maenam
Beach, with plenty of restaurants, shops, service
agencies, bars, and nightspots in the vicinities.
The quieter resort areas are located in
the north of Koh Samui. The beaches at Mae Nam, Bophut,
Bang Rak, and Choeng Mon are very beautiful and a lot
less crowded, especially during peak travel periods.
These areas offer a good variety of lodging and dining
options, but less choices for shopping or après-beach
entertainment.
The shores in the South and South-West
are characterized by long and largely untouched
stretches of white beach and sand coves.
Only a few bungalow complexes and one or
two luxury resorts spread out along the beaches near
Bang Makham, Lipa Noi, Taling Ngam, Phang Ka, Thong
Krut, Bang Kao and Hua Thanon. Here is the choice of
travelers who are seeking solitude.
Nathon is Koh Samui’s administrative
center, with ferry port to the mainland and neighboring
islands.
Nathon’s beach may not be too attractive
for swimming or sun-tanning, but the small town streets
and alleys are definitely heaven for shoppers and
bargain hunters.
